I bought this plant for 4 bucks at my lfs, but I found out they sell non-aquatic plants too... So I was wondering what this was and whether or not it was meant for fish tanks... Sorry, the photos aren't very good, any help would be great!

So I take it that Argentine Swords are aquatic plants? I'll look it up on google and see if that's it... anyone else have any bright ideas?

If it's a sword plant, you should be fine. If your still not sure, just keep an eye on it. If it starts to rot, pitch it.

Well, swords are usually grown with their leaves out of the water, because they are easier to grow and ship that way. When first put under from from being grown this way they have to grow underwater leaves again. So, the current leaves will most likely die off and new ones will grow in their place.

In general, swords plants are heavy root feeders and need a good amount of light. So, that should be your next course of action, making sure you have the required conditions for it.
