I have 4 of these guys, but the LFS couldn't remember what they were called:


Their body is like a glass fish - you can see its silvery organs inside, and it has a red fin at the back. They are between 3/4inch and 1 1/4 inches long.

The pond with some Triops
most tetras have some sort of silvery organ thing that's see through lol.

Aren't bloodfins longer? That one looks shorter and wide...

Maybe it's just that the pic was from an unflattering angle... A profile would have been easier, but fish aren't always cooperative photo subjects, are they?

I suspect it's a Blood Fin too. I just looked at some tonight at the LFS.

... as the fish swims off asking, "Does this red tail make my butt look big?" :joke:

I think its a 'glass bloodfin' which is a bit different than normal bloodfins.

glass bloodfin is what it is, i cant believe you bought the fish with out knowing what they were... sounds like me when i got my first tank, but at least you didnt get some 1" tin foil barbs... the guy said they grow to 3" max, my a$$ ther almost 4... and i no they aint gettin smaller :( i need a biger tank
