can dojo loach and lobster be tank mates

Did you have a bad crayfish experience? What happened. If I could find a bluish shrimp, that would be really cool....that problem is I am trying to balance the bottom feeder colors with the colors of the fish swiming up above.

I have a Hammer's Cobalt Blue in my son's 20g tank. He's in there with 3 silver dollars, 2 tiger barbs, a gourami, a Black Mystery Snail and a Candy Striped Pleco. We've had him for about 3 months now.

I have NEVER seen Mr. Cleaner show any aggression to anyone in the tank, unless they try to take his wafer. Even when this happens, he only waves his claws in the air.

Mr. Cleaner dug a hole under the bogwood to hide in and the pleco, believe it or not, sleeps in there with him. Two days ago I plopped a 2" Mystery Snail in the tank. The crayfish's claws are small, but those shells aren't THAT hard.

He hasn't touched him and no fish is going to move slower than that snail.

I also would like to point out that these are Procambarus sp. crayfish and NOT Cherax sp. crayfish. Cherax sp. are very aggressive, nasty brutes and I will not have one in the house again. Tore up my plants! THREW the bogwood around! Dismantled my filter! Hated that guy.

Anyhow, this is not to say that all Procambarus sp. are the same, however they DO have a less violent nature as a whole.

hmmmm....
Well, that is interesting info. And as I was having trouble locating any gold dojo loach but I came across a an orange-ish ropefish, I just got that guy, and desided against the loach. However, I was still didn't think I should get the lobster as the ropefish is always dangling this long tail behind him and I thought it might be too tempting.

My experience with crayfish is that they all have VERY individual personalities. Cherax sp. Procambarus sp etc etc. I've had many in my tanks and some are fish eaters and some arnt. Some of my Cherax sp. will atcually sit ontop of eachother and it doesnt bother them!

My suggestion is that you dont get them if you're really in love with the fish in the tank now, because you take a chance with them being super agressive no matter what species you get! But if you are into it they can be a really neat pet!

Thanks for the advice. I think maybe sometime I will get a tank just for a cray and not have to worry about anyone else. :)
