I have a Fluval 304 and I want to use Filter Floss to Polish the water rather than buy a Fluval water polishing sponge. Will it work?

I use it for that purpose and it works just fine. Just like the "polisher pads" you have to keep it clean... I pop the top and either clean or replace it once a week.

Well it will be at the very top of the filter and it already has 4 sponges in it so I don't expect many particles to get that high.

One tip, don't pack it tight at all... very loose pack is all you need.... if you put a lot in there it will impede the water flow.

Filter companies sell it expensive, but you can find a 1lb bag of fiber filll that will last you over a year for under $3.

Poly-fil is a synthetic floss used in making pillows and such. I use it all the time and try to find the bio-degradable when possible. 1 bag lasts me a couple of months for all my tanks.
