there are several species of ghost/glass shrimp. They babies have a larvael stage. Some species require brackish conditions to mature. The best bet is to make sure you intake is covered with a sponge to protect the larvae (in case you have a species which matures in fw).

Tell me if I am wrong and I know someone has already answered But why can't I just put the shrimp in a 1 or 2 gallon tank until the babies come.I would fill the tank with stuff from the main tank and use gravel from the main tank..

Not really sure I canleave it in the main tank It is a community tank I have a few fish two are Angel fish every time the shrimp goes under a tree the both come charging down It looks to me as If they know the babies are coming are keep rushing to eat them.
How do they get pregant ,How long before they have the babies/. It looks like the entire stomach moves along with the eggs Is their any sites tha show this.
