Have a friend who has an 29g with some goldfish and I have a lot of guppies I want to get rid of. I don't know if he has a heater in there already or not, but if he did have one, would the guppies and goldfish be able to live together and live in the same temp. and ph ranges?

they need different temperature parameters. You could get away with the temp thing if they were fancy goldies but then there would be a food issue. They need different foods in order for each to thrive. Then you'd have to worry about as the goldies grow bigger (and believe me, it's fast) they'd be figuring out that the guppies are quite a good snack.
