I have a female guppy who has delivered at least 2 babies already. All last night and this morning it looks as if she is attempting to squeeze out another one but it is stuck. It has been in the same position, half out of mom, all last night. Is this normal?

when i was younger the same happened to one of my guppies, i grabbed it in a net and gave it a very gentle squeeze and i mean GENTLE

Also most of the time catching them in a net gives them a fright and out they pop,

I was debating on squeezing her a little bit, but wasn't sure if that would harm her.

try catching and releasing her with a net she may just pop the little bugger out which by now is probably dead, if she doesnt get it out she too will probably die, however i have read something somewhere about fish babies being absorbed up by the mother cant see it being true maybe i am wrong

she's in a breeder trap so she should be easy to catch. I'll try that when I get home, hope it works I don't want to lose her :(

yes guppies can have difficulty giving birth, but she does eventually manage to shake out the youngster

good luck, and take her out the breeder trap the males will chase her around which may also help

Can the babies be caught and put back in the net?
They will get eaten if they stay in the tank
