Can I have Cherry Shrimp

good lord, i started with a mere half dozen and right now ive got about 4 dozen!

granted, i bought them from a lfs and he charged $3 a piece and i live on a budget. you could get a nice colony for a decent price off of here of course

My female beta doesn't bother my shrimp at all. The shrimp do like the moss ball I have, and other live plants. They also like the 1 fake plant I have. My shrimp seem to like driftwood too.

I have a 5½ full of RCS. I have a bit of java moss and a fake leafy plant for them to play on or hide in. They multiply like crazy as long as you keep their water clean. I started with about 30 and now have at least 75 if not more. My lighting is very minimal (Stock hood and lamp) but it is enough for the moss.

I find that they are much more visible (they don't hide as much) when they are in a tank by themselves or have tons of cover.

If your goal is to breed shrimp, then you need to create an environment conducive to achieve that purpose. Have plenty of hiding places, both living plants, and artificial. Have plenty of vertical housing, enough for each shrimp to find their own place to feel safe, and not threatened by fish or other shrimp.

Most importantly, healthy water, and few, very few, predators. Any fish, no matter how peaceful their disposition may be, will cause young shrimp to feel stress. It does not take much to kill vulnerable you shrimp.

Good luck!
