can i put an odessa barb + catfish w a betta and 5 glofish?

thanks ok

and can they live with the betta and the 5 glofish?
Barbs are notorious nippers and might nip the betta's fins.

Personally, I wouldn't do this setup, I hate seeing bettas getting their fins bit, but it might be worth a shot if the betta is provided with hiding spots.

yup thanks for the pix. He/she is definitely the pseudomystus siamensis bagridae. all the details down to the tail.

Those get to about 6", not suitable for a 20 gal, plus will eat smaller fish when full grown. Here's some more info from the most trusted bottom-dweller site:

Odessa barbs, although similar to tiger barbs in color and pattern, are no where near as nippy. Not all barbs will nip fins, and provided they are in a large enough school should keep to themselves.

My experience is that they all bite to some extent. My Odessas never nipped, come to think of it...

Hey thanks alot. i put a gourami and 4 emerald barbs the catfish ate 2 barbs.... and killed the others. then i put in a 4 colombian red finned tetra been 5 days and they seem fine. also not as nippy at the emerald entourage and the gourami and the odessa are happily swimming about. the catfish even comes out really fast at feeding time to clean up the plant. u r right, the catifsh is huge already like 3.5 inches...

Your fish may appear "happy," but as they have no facial expressions like other animals it's impossible to tell if they really are "happy." Instead of relying on what you perceive is ok, you need to follow the advice of experts in the fish field.

Various reputable websites indicate the Oddessa barb requires a school of atleast 5 fish. Your 20 gallon aquarium is way too small for this. You catfish will outgrow your tank as well. Your best bet is to stop purchasing more fish until you get your current situation under control.

Additionally, your 6 gallon tank is rediculously overstocked with 6 glofish and 1 betta. Glofish are extremely active and even though they are smaller fish, they need a large space to swim.

thank you for your valuable input i will speak to the aquarium store and see how i can as you say get this under control

have a lovely thanksgiving
