Can I put this fish there?

I have 2 55 gal tanks, but one I am going to convert to SW. The fish I have in the one to remain fw has:
1 large angel (about 4" top to bottom)
1 pictus cat
1 pleco
1 upside down cat (just hangs on the bottom of a decoration mostly)
5 glass fish (before I knew they were really "painted")
1 white molly
1 zebra danio
3 pristella tetras
1 cory

My other 55 that I am converting has:
1 convict (2.5")
1 red finned borleyi (3.4-4")
1 chinese algea eater
2 shark cats (4.5-5")

Anyway the reason I am writing all this is to ask if I could put the shark cats in the 55fw I already have setup. They don't appear to agressive where they are now, but they are with aggressive fish. I am giong to put the convict in a 10gal I have (not setup yet), and I am not sure what do do with the borleyi - I jsut gave my friend my 3" aurustus. The ones I am worried about though are the shark cats, just want to know if they could make it in the other tank.. THanks and sorry for the long post...
 
Shark cats will get to be too large for a 55, so you'd need a new tank for them.

The CAE may latch on to sides of the Angels as they mature, so I'd get rid of it.

Finally, the Con will cause some problems in that tank...if the Pictus (too large for the tank) doesn't eat it and everything else in the tank first.
 
I know they eventually get too large for the tank, but no one in the lfs told me that when I bought them over a year ago. So there isn't much to do about that now (no one in my area takes trades or buybacks). Also the convict will be in the 10gal by herself. And finally the Pictus is already very lard (about 5") but he is also very mild. He has been in that tank for about a year and has never bothered anyone. He just hangs out in the rock caves most of the time (especially when the lights are on). So he has never been a problem yet.....
 
They aren't necessarily aggressive, but they pick off fish at night...kinda like Oscars aren't aggressive but pick off fish when they're available...
 
Don't trust the Pictus, they are eating machines (the one we had ate all the smaller fish in the tank then started chewing on the Columbian Shark cats tail, ant the shark was bigger).

If the Shark cats you are referring to are Columbian Shark Catfish (Arius seemani) they will need to be acclimated to BW as they get older so you might want to think about moving it to the BW tank (I have seen discriptions recomending this fish go into full marine conditions in the later stages of it's life)
 
Yeah it sucks.... NOW I know they are BW but there isn't much I can do about it now. I don't want to turn a tank that would be big enough for them into a BW tank. So far they are extremely healthy and very active.
The Pictus is at least 2-2.5 yrs old now and really isn't aggressive from what I have seen. I have several small fish in there with him and he doesn't bother any of them. He really doesn't do much except hand out under the rocks like I said. He gets spooked very easily when he does come out though.
Anyway my options are kinda limited with what I can work with. I can't get rid of the sharks (yes they are the Columbian Cat Fish). The only one in the Fw I am keeping that I am worried about is the Angel. Its over 1.5 yrs old and very big and beautiful the others are "easily" replaceable. THanks for the info and help
 
if you wana keep the angel dont put it with the convict thats what i say, so as long as the con goes into the 10g you should be fine there.
first off i would never trust a pictus cat in with anything samaller than he is, im not sayin dont do it casue different fish have different personalities and he may be "aquainted with" the otherh fish since they have been living together foir a while, jsut be careful if you do it. and count your fish!
