Can I use this as decor?

ok, so the log has been in there now for awhile, I thought I killed everything off until this not really fuzzy, but maybe spongy stuff, kinda attached to the log, any concern? could this be fish food(not literally food, but something the fish could eat)?

ryknier - where did you find that piece of wood? in the ground, in the water, just siting on the ground? you said you tripped on it.

Debra Mark - were those pieces ( ok trees) dead for a while? were they drift wood yet? I ask because I found a nice looking stump (dead) that I've had in a 55 gal drum in water for 2 weeks to see what would happen with the water. I hope it works out its a nice piece.

N8DOGG - The stump was a piece of driftwood that had been washed ashore on the riverbank, for how long, we're not sure. The 12' log came off a neighbor's apple tree and was cut fresh. It still had a lot of bark on it, but it was soon polished clean by our 4 plecostamus. The only strange thing that happens with the stump, every once in a while it releases a bunch of bubbles - doesn't harm the fish, but looks kind of neat....

hey DM, does your do what I kinda explained, it looks like a lugey, not saying everyone knows what that looks like, but best explained like that!
