It can irritate fish, but nothing beyond that. Certainly nothing harmful. The one possible exception may be male seahorses, which can get them caught in their "pouch," causing them to float.

EEk. Glad I don't have sea horses. I've been able to redirect them a tad bit...still obnoxious but at least just obnoxious in a 1/4 of the tank now. Guess this means my protein skimmer is at least DOING something
