Can ramshorn snails and cherry shrimps co-exist in the same tank?

I'd like to get a small population of both species going and have an opportunity to get 10 of each but small.

I'm thinking of setting up a 10g and put both in, along with a sponge filter and throw in some hair algae-infested plants in there.

Would the snails and shrimps destroy each others' eggs or will they successfully breed in this tank?

Just to easy worries ... in my tanks I have.

  • Cherry Shrimp
  • MTS
  • Rams
  • Bladders
  • Ponds
  • Quilted Melania
  • Assassin Snails
  • some really small FW shrimp like s scud but about 1/4 of the size
  • Palanria
All are reproducing well even the blasted Planaria.

I have 2 dime sized ramshorns in a 10 gallon with my yellow dwarf shrimp. They have laid eggs and the shrimp are leaving the snail eggs alone.

I guess I will find out soon enough. With only those two species in the tank, it will be obvious if one of them is wiping out the other species... Or preventing population growth.
