CAN SOMEONE HELP ME IDENTIFY THIS FISH PLEASE```

I never buy fish from pet stores, but I saw this one and as soon as I walked by
It swam by the glass and kept swimming after me wherever I moved
It looked so hopeless... and to me, like it was dying
So i bought it.. it never said what kind of fish, they gave me a "whatever" price for it
But i'd like to know a little more about it.
It looks like a catfish on the mouth..

Could be wrong, kind of looks like a pangasius catfish/ shark.

If it is a sun cat (I too think it is) you're going to need a large tank for it as it will grow to about 18"

According to a quick Google search and what info others have given here:

Horabagrus brachysoma.

AKA Eclipse Catfish, Sun Catfish, Gunther's Catfish, Yellow Catfish...

Petsmart claims they max out at 6", other online sources claim they max out at 18", including one report of a Petsmart telling a customer that they had a 12" Eclipse Catfish available in store. So much for accurate tags, eh?

I know nothing about this particular species personally, so that's the best I can do for you.

I had two before. Got them by mistake, but kept them. They grew to about 4+ inches in my 100gal. Fairly peaceful, and rairly saw them.
