Can someone please ID this coral?

oh :) I thought you were mad cuz I mentioned the same thing Mahlhavoc earlier :p:

Yeah, it occured to me that I didn't phrase that very well, so wanted to clarify. Otherwise, there's be a heck of a lot of cleanup to go through! Yikes!

Hey guy's I just got an updated pic of my polyps, are they fully open and what kind are they, and do they look healthy, also I am thinking about getting rid of my huge hermits and get smaller ones. I got them from the wild (galveston bay), what do ya'll think?

definately zoanthiids......the exact same ones i have, although i dont know exactly what kind of zoanthid they are. sometimes it takes them a couple days to open up after shipment. look healthy to me! i feed mine with zooplankton, just turn off filters, powerheads etc , and use an eyedropper or turkey baster to gently spray some food at them.

to me they look like green button polyps. mine looked exactly like that when they werent doing too hot. no, they arent fully opened yet, when they are they wont be cupped like that but rather almost flat on top if you know what i mean. hth

mine were only in my tank for about a month before they started spreading....now they grow like wildfire!! what i did was buy a 3 pound chunk of live rock for sacrificial purposes lol,... i use a hammer and chisel to break off small pieces and i set the pieces next to the polyps so theyll grow onto them. then you can sell them, move them to other spots in the tank, give them to friends etc.....

Save yourself the money--buy little chuinks of dry lace rock. Much cheaper, and the corals won't care. Did the same thing with xenia.

zoos are fussy they dont really like water movement the film is normal its there mucas that is what spreads and makes more they either move to diffrent spots or the mucas releases and they grow check out www.garf.org to learn more
