But if I'm understanding what you're saying, I think you have a point. Not all German Blue Rams are German Blue Rams. I would only call those selectiviely bred for the healthiest and most colorful as GBRs. All other, I would simply call them blue rams. I have 2 pairs of wild caught mikrogeophagus ramierezi that I simply call wild blue rams. in my other tank, I have 2 GBRs, which are much larger and much more colorful than the wild blue rams.
There are also gold rams, which is a color morph of the blue rams. Though awfully pretty, they have a reputation of being fragile.
