Hey guys,

I'm interested in buying some vallisneria for my tanks. My question is can vallisneria be cut just like dwarf hairgrass without damaging the growth and/or plant?

Thank you
Patty

I see people do it all the time, I have never tried it though, but I would not cut it too low.

I have both "Italian spiral" val & 1 of the jungle-ish vals (natans or spiralis...to 3 feet--eek). I do trim the "jungle val" to keep it under height control. But the Italian only grows to 8 or 10 inches...if your tank is more shallow than that, don't bother growing it: it won't be pretty & it should be in almost any tank!!
