I think a lot of what you "can" eat depends on how hungry you are, and what options you've got I'm pretty sure most "pet" fish are not toxic.

For Show and Fung Shui actually...Carp is very bony and not really good, however Pacu Pangasius RTC and Arowana are cheap and easily acessible because they are mass produced for food

Tilapia has become a farmed fish in the US due to it's viability and flavor. It is often the main fish used in the making of fishsticks. They recover their numbers faster than cod and some of the other white fish we eat.

Although never would even consider but met someone who cooked approx 20" Panther Grouper from my tank. If I knew he would eat it I wouldve found other ways to get rid of. Poor Grouper!!!
