Whoa! I would never buy from anywhere that didn't do at least a 7 day guarantee - even every Petco or Petsmart I've been to has the 14 day guarantee! If they don't give you at least a week, there's a reason - because they know or expect many of their fish will die within that time. I always order from drs foster and while the shipping is a bit much, and the minimum order is annoying when you're buying like $3.00 fish, I've had great luck with them. All of my fish looked excellent upon arrival (made the same species in the LFS look really pathetic, then again my LFS sucks), and all have survived except for some DOAs when there was a huge unexpected snowstorm and FedEx was delayed 3 days!! I couldn't really blame them for that one, and they refunded my money AND shipping with no questions asked - excellent customer service. Good luck with your stocking!

I live 110 miles from the nearest petsmart, and 60 from petco. and the petco is way small. not a good store. So I can not buy from them. Local is usually the only way. But I did buy from petsmart last year and they all did well. I will do doctor fosters. I think I can buy exactly what i want when they come in . Aomw things I want are out of stock So I have to order when they come back in stock.

Swordtails have always been a fun fish to watch. The males especially. If you put one male with three or four colorful females you can watch him flirt with them. He'll swim backwards into them with his tail fin. And then they have tons of babies. So you always have new colorful fish to watch.

Zebra danios. They swim at mid level and are really fast. So in a school they just dart all over the tank.

Pictus Catfish for the bottom. They like to hide a lot but they will devour their food. Especially dead fish. So if the babies die and you can't find them the catfish will eat them for you.

And a couple gouramis or hi fin tetras for your "alpha fish". If you get a male and female pearl gourami they will also court eachother. the males breast will turn a bright orange and he will take his fins in front which look like whiskers and always rub on the female. sometimes the male can also be a little rough and aggressive. but really fun to watch.
