Can you have too much aeration?

Okay..I have the tackiest..corniest tank ever!! REALLY. Keep in mind it's interior decorator was my 6 year old daughter. Imagine...a small fiber optic lighted castle (for the mermaids of course)...a hot pink bubbling (First point of aeration) fake coral...a large white burping bubble clam (second point of aeration) and tonight we added an 18 inch bubble wand (lots more aeration). Now imagine this is all accented with WAY to many artificial plants. I did manage to sneak in a nice piece of driftwood and I insisted on natural gravel (she was eyeing up the hot pink and purple gravel  ). This is all in a 40 gallon tetra/rasbora/cory tank with an eclipse hood/filter. We got a LOT of action going on in there but at least it's FUN! LOL...should we have a "Who's got the tackiest tank? contest?" I WIN! LOL
My concern is can you have TOO much aeration? My thought is the more air/oxygen being added to the water the better, but I am notoriously wrong about these things. Any input?

Okay...here is a link to a picture of it for proof of it's cheesy-ness!

Hope it works...never added a pic before plus I take really bad pictures!

As far as I know there is no danger in over aeration per se.
Id just check to see if it seems to make current that bothers the fish. Live plants might have a problem with it, but you have none.
Someone may correct me, but i cant see any risk in it.
Too bad you didnt go with the pink/purple gravel :D
woulda looked so good with the coral. ;)

LOL...I will tell her she has one vote for the matching gravel! LOL...keep in mind though, this is in my very antique-ish living room! We do have fun with it though. Oh well, you can't take things too seriously, especially with kids in the house!!
Thanks,

I just realized...this means I'm not the only one who can see the pic. WOOHOO...I did something right on this thing!

oh my.lol
6 YO housemates can certainly pose interesting interior decorating challenges :dance2:
but, You are lucky to have her.
left to your own devices you probably wouldnt even have thought of providing housing for the poor mermaids!

Honestly, I've seen very ugly tanks on here, from folks who were not going for a "tacky" look or who do not have a 6 year old to blame  !! I actually kind of like it, with all the plants, the coral just adds a little color :) . Unless the fish seem bothered by the bubbles (like they can't get away, or find a spot where they don't have to "surf") its fine. My only suggestion would be a hiding spot of some sort where they can "escape" :), most fish appreciate a spot where they feel like they are hiding out
