Cancer again

Sorry for the bad news Mel. I pray that all works out for your friend. Sending prayers and best wishes your way.
If I had breast cancer for the 3rd time, I would be demanding the doctor remove any and all breast tissue! Good lord, she has either the worst luck or a bad doctor. Has she spoken to her doctor about where, how it's coming back?
Hope she will be ok and it doesn't come back again!

Lilyan, it is awful isn't it that this is the third time; cancer is practically a plague in this family.
The strange thing is that each case was a diferent type of cancer and not related to the other cases, according to the pathologist reports. She had a left mastectomy and chemo in 1994, a lumpectomy and radiation in 1999 in the right breast and now they will do a mastectomy.
When she was very young she married a young guy that was a crop duster signalman. He was exposed to a lot of chemicals and brought them home, I'm sure, on his clothing. He died at 27 of leukemia.
Her parents lived nearby and there were lots of crops in the area that were regularly sprayed with, lord knows what all kinds of chemicals; this was during the 50's. Her older brother died of cancer at 55, her father died of brain cancer.
The bone scans and PET scan she just had seem to indicate that the cancer has not spread, but that's what they said before, and in general her health is not good so we're worried about how she'll do, going through this again.
So, we will take it one day at a time. To all the women here, please don't neglect checking yourself for any lumps or changes, and get a mammogram, yearly.
