My biggest issue with candles that are burning is not if it has an effect on the tank and the fish in them, which I believe is fine, but just the idea that you can become so relaxed from them and fall asleep with them still burning. The problem is then it becomes a fire hazard. Just make sure that when you are done using them that they are extinguished properly.

if you start a fire with candles near your fishtank, you have a great source of water with which to put it out..:devil: :banhim: :evil_lol:
I burn scented candles and scented oil burners (the ones that use the tealight candle to heat the oil) in my living room/kitchen area all the time. There are 4 tanks just in that area and I've never had any issues. I even have a SW nano tank less than 5 feet from the scented oil burner. It's no problem.
