So my pal is selling off all of his top notch equipment. Its allllll top end.

He has a 55g with AGA glass tops, some brightest light ive ever seen 4 bulbs, black, and with 2 fans and moonlights built in. I dont know what its called or how much. And has 2 thats right 2 overkill filters. a 304 rated at 70g and another 305 rated at 70g lol. A custon cab with surge protectors mounted and a light below. He said its at 600 rounded down and only 6months old. Did they make the 304 6 months ago? or is it older? He wouldnt screw me were family now lol. Its my fiance's cousin.

He wants to sell me the 304 for 50.00 for my 55g hex that has a dunno how old prolly 6 years or more AC 300 HOB

Is there a big diff between the 304 and 305?

He wants 300.00 with everything but the one 304?
55g
305-custom spray bars
light- awesome light
tops- all glass
stand- custom, pretty slick inside too
flourite

125.00 for the tank and fluval 305. just a quote he gave me for my boss at work who needs just a new tank and filter. He has a 20yr old UGF! on a 55g.

A tank and stand will run you about $250-300 from PetSmart/PETCO. Glass tops are an extra $10/each. What about a heater? That will cost you an additional $20 if you don't have one. If things are in good working condition, I would say go for it if it's something you want, and of course you do. Of course you do.

Ya, I know its a good deal. A steal actually. He needs money I guess. But it doesnt look that way huh lol.

But onto the 304 im buying that was my main ?.

The 304 ok? whats the diff between the 04 and 05 besides color, looks like there the same output and size. Just a tighter media container maybe.

And then a double check on the 50.00 is ok and when they quit making the 04?

Thanks in advance.

If the lighting is a good system (details, please - bulb type(s)/wattage, age of bulbs, brand of fixture), and it's all in good shape, it's probably a good deal, especially if the guy is willing to help a bit or at lease answer some questions...

304s and 305s are very similar - probable differences are the hose connectors, color, intake strainer design. Though they are rated for 70g aquariums, most here would consider using the pair on a planted 55g to be "about right" - not overkill. A Fluval FX5 would be approaching overkill.

I don't know if the 304 is still in production, but there are new ones still out there.

304 for $50 isnt any kind of a deal. they go on ebay for that all the time if you look around you prob can get it even cheaper. i dont think fluval 304 is top of the line by no means. they stopped making the 304 a year or two ago but places still sell them that have them in stock.

i think $300 is too much.

well thankyou, but we all know mg leans towards the negative side of things lol.

I havnt found it cheaper than 50.00. the cheapest was 89.99 new

I have two fluval canister filters (304 and 404) and an eheim. The fluvals are a lot harder to get into and clean, i intend to replace these oneday for two more eheim's they are easier to clean and quieter.

phew, I dont know how to word it.

jeffrey-I understand your translating. 50.00 would be great for a new one duh? not in a mean way at allllll your a HUGE help. but 50.00 for a gently used one locally from 1 owner, that I know? Thats seems ok.

mgamer2000- 404 for 50.00 new? plus shipping of course. I know you dont know the other specs of the deal. But I didnt have a ? about is the 300.00 a good deal. I was just listing it for I dunno. I now realize I shouldnt have posted the other things at least w/o the specs, not thinking of course people are gonna comment on that aspect of the thread as well. Im sorry. To each his/her own.

krytan-I thankyou for your input. The eheims are also more money.
