Canister filter recommendations for a goldfish tank

I got an FX-5 for my 75G goldfish tank. I was sick and tired of servicing two large HOBs on weekly basis, and the giant canister has me down to about ever three weeks between filter maintenance. This is with 9 Goldfish of decent size, plus supporting dojos and pleco.

I was concerned about the output wash as well, but I'm surprised how unphased everybody is in the fast-moving water. Granted, my most delicate fish are fairly hardy ryukins. The loaches rather enjoy playing in the filter wash. The intake is also quite well designed, with almost no suction that I've ever noticed.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it! I am hoping to have a couple of pearscales in the tank, and I have a moor that has a very unique tail and is not the strongest swimmer. They are my main concern as to the flow issue.

Is the tank barebottom (best option)(or sand)?with a hose- siphon if your cleaning the waste out of the bottom manually with larger fish that`s better mechanical filtration than any filter. For a filter to work the best you need enough circulation so the water passes into the input or the waste just dissolves into the water or if there is gravel it will just break down and fall to the bottom. Also waste can break up into tiny particles you can`t see and stick to the glass.Best to be wiped at water changes

The tank will be planted, therefore the substrate will be sand with soil underneath. I am quite familiar with cleaning tanks properly. I have 14 already, lol. Water changes will be daily.
