Canister Filter - What brand is the best

I'm currently using a Penplax Cascade canister filter. Ït works fine, moves a lor of water and has the pump button on top, so you can pump it to get it started. I don't know why nobody likes or at least support this filter.

I vote for Rena

I picked up my filstar XP2 for 79.99 at petsmart.... print off the filstar price list from their website and they price match :)

Mine didn't come with instructions and I still had it installed and running in 20 minutes!

Very quiet except when the odd air bubble goes through the pump. Very easy to setup.

Also you don't have to worry about making a mess during cleaning as rena designed a very cool quick disconnect for the lines.

Another vote for the Renas. I can't speak as to how long it will run, but I love the XP3 I have on my 55 gal. I added some ceramic rings for biofiltration and with some floss in the top tray, my water is crystal clear. It's pretty much silent. It's really easy to set up/prime, and a breeze to maintain. At $104.99, I call it a good deal.

I vote for Rena XP2 as well.

Installation was very easy. The box contained a colorful instruction booklet, a bag of carbon and the filter foams. It has two roomy compartments to store the media. The spraybar is cool too.

This machine is solidly built, so I'm sure it'll last a long time. I'm very happy with it.

Lissette

P.S. Patoloco, si se lo que dices. ;)
