I am in the process of setting up a 125 gallon system. I will have a Magnum 350 attached but want to hook up either a Canister (such as a Fluval) or a trickle system to accompany it. Does anyone have any opinions about which one works better in a brackish tank?

Thanks!
Michael

I dont know about brackish ability but I would definately recommend the Rena Filstar XP series. Cheap, reliable and many output options.

I do not like Fluval. Had a 404 and after 1.5 to 2 years or so, it died (not really but was just enough to be a pain to work with). The Rena is MUCH easier to work with.

From what I understand - which is not much - both will do well in SW, therefore BW should be fine (if my logic is good...)

Good Luck

its cost comparitive. & wet drys always have dead areas in the dry section that arent being utilized.maybe if it had a good difuser plate above bio balls.turn a fluval on a diagonal 45 degree angle & it will do the same thing.Or an Eiheim wet dry could be good.as stated the rena filstar is an ecceptioal buy. just change hoses (their flimbsy)
