Cannot get rid of ich...

:sad Hi back again i have had the salt /heat going in the tank now for 6 days all fish were doing good then tonight i went in to check and i lost my drawf honey! the partner is looking stressed too..so i did 20 gallon water change with no more salt to start to bring it back poor fish i guess the heat and salt might of been to much for them! but i had it up to 86 and two tsp per gallon..Guess you cant win them all! :(

You need to treat the entire aquarium. But I quarantine the infected fish if I use salt because I have plants and salt-sensitive fish. I then medicate the main aquarium as well as the fish recieving salt treatment.

I am treating the whole tank! They have been in treatment for two weeks the first week was with ich plus which killed alot of my fish then i changed and went with the heat salt treatment for the last five days at two tsp to 1 gallon now i have dropped the salt back to one tsp to one gallon to help the stressed drawf honey grammi (sp) All signs of ich have been gone for five days..Now i am tring to keep it up for another four days at the half dose and heat..

65 gallon tank with a few plants
1 dwarf honey
2 cories
1 ruby clown cic
2 frogs
5 tertras (fruit)
1 3"sucker (aka wormy, worm)
how much longer do i keep this up?

Great news you guys! The salt and raised temps treatment worked for the ich in my tank. Over the weekend, all of the fish dropped their spots. I did loose a few fish to the stress, and my 2 gobies didn't like it and I think I lost the last one of those. But this treatment gave me more immediate results than any of the medications I tried. I am converted!

Glad to hear it. The salt and warmer water worked wonders for me as well. All fish are doing great and I agree with you that meds did not do near as well as salt.

Glad to hear it as well, just hang in there and keep the treatment going for a wekk or so so that you never have to do this again. I love my ICH free tanks.
