The Carbo Plus CO2 unit releases carbon dioxide into your tank without bottled gas or reaction chambers. Instead, it uses a simple carbon block to release all the CO2 your tank may need. Includes a control unit that monitors the amount of CO2 being released and also lets you know when the carbon block needs to be replaced. This item is great for planted tanks. Be sure to check your pH often, as carbon tends to lower pH. Carbon block sits in housing and attaches inside tank with suction cups. Control unit comes with washers for fixing it to wall.

What does anyone know about this system-is it worth the money? Here is a link: http://www.aquariumguys.com/carboplus.html

Co2

DIY - far more efficient and far less costly. i don;t know what size tank(s) you have but Co2 is sort of like MTS. Most users graduate to presurized as it seems most aquarists add tanks over time.

Likely the output is relatively low, and I am a bit leery of running current and an active electrochemical reaction in my tank (and if I remember rightly, one of the byproducts is hydrogen gas, which I would not want, even in small quantities, near my lights). Just spend the bucks on a 5lb tank and system...you will be happier in the end.

Can someone post some links or give me suggestions as to where I can get a tank and system...I know most of the CO2 tanks can be bought @ welding supply stores but I only have a 20 gallon long that I am using this for.... :help:

Carbo Plus is junk, please don't waste your money.

CO2 Regulator a Milwaukee or JBJ from ebay or aquatic-store.com, or aquariumplants.com. The Azoo regulator is a great regulator drsfostersmith.com

CO2 diffusor aquabotanic.com for a glass diffuser, or you can DIY with a powerhead and a sponge that has the CO2 line feeding through the sponge and intake to diffuse the CO2.

CO2 cyclinder either from beveragefactory.com or locally at your welding and fire supply shops.

If I purchase this then all I need is a CO2tank? This seems like a much better deal than what I've been looking at....thanks for the link!
