Yip. You can buy filter floss cheap from Big Al's, you can use 100% Polyester batting for pillows or quilts and crafts, but make sure it says hypoallergenic, 100% polyester and make sure it isn't coated in anything or says something like mildew-proof. I like the Marineland because it stays together very well and I run little risk of clogging my impeller.
