Carbon Block CO2 System

I've got a sugar reactor on my 25g, its easy. One 2 litre bottle, tubing, check valve and some silicone glue. I just feed the end into my filter intake......off we go. Cost is about 3 dollars tubing, 2 dollar check valve, sugar, yeast, aquarium safe glue, baking soda (for buffer) total about 10 dollars. Minutes to set up.

hey if you're so busy try the new fizz tabs they have at petco now. supposed to last a week or 2. But really the yeast reactor is VERY simple and VERY cheap. I just set one up last night with a plastic bottle, tubing and 50 cents for packet of yeast, didn't even use any power tools, just a kitchen knife to "drill" the holes and toothpaste to "caulk" where tubing meets bottle cap. Definately will work for 20g and only needs to be maintained every 3-4 weeks. fyi mine is bubbling once every 1.2 secs and my co2 according to chart is around 25ppm and I have 10g tank. I just feed the bubbles to my whisper hob filter intake and the blades chop it up. It probably took me longer to type this out than to actually build it.

I just drilled another hole in the bottle lid and put an air valve there. Now I can adjust the rate of co2 bubble upto a maximum value, ie the valve is fully closed. This is awsome! I just checked my co2 and it's really close to 30ppm so I need to bring it down this way.
