will carbon filter affect plant fertilizers

Some say it does, and some say it doesnt. I believe that if your fertilizing regularly, especially using the EI methods, carbon isnt gonna be able to absorb them fast enough.

I think if that was the case, the carbon would fill up so fast it would not be able to filter your water at all, making it completely pointless to use?

as in like carbon in the filter? or as in like a carbon filter used to remove chlorine from the water?
