From these forums I learned that:
Carbon doesnt last more than a couple of weeks
Carbon removes Medications in the water

So if I dont replace my carbon and its been a month or so, could I hypthetically put medication in the tank without having to worry about the carbon removing it?

Yes. You'll probably want to have new carbon on hand to run once the medication period is complete to remove it from the system, but for now, adding it with old carbon in place will be okay.

Thanks. I was just wondering in case my tank got infected or something. My carbon has been in the floss in my 2 hangers for a few months. This was before I learned the stuff would stop working.

Also its not that it just stops working. It becomes saturated and will no longer soak anything up. Then it may start to leach some stuff back into the water. I would take it out the first chance you get.
