cardinal going belly up

first of all all the water perameters are fine. nothing has been chasing it. i just cant get my bangaii cardinal to eat. i have seen him take a couple bits of flake food, but he wont take any brime shrimp or bloodworms. any advise on what to try???? there isnt any live brime availabe to me right now or i would try that. i caught him and put him in the q-tank this mourning. he didnt strggle at all. its the olnly cardinal that survided the shippment out of 3. he just wont eat. somone help!!! he lays at the bottom of tank against the glass now.
 
Very sorry to hear about that. It seems like you did everything you could, and the fish were probably not well from the beginning.

If you are thinking about more banggais, how about some tank-raised guys? Inland Aquatics is in your neck of the woods, and has great livestock. According to their price list, they are only $20 a piece. Dunno if they have them in stock, though.

From what I hear they can be picky eaters at times and need live foods. If they were wild caught, they may have needed to be acclimated to flake and frozen.
I would suggest purchasing only tank breed fish. You can try inland aquatics or try your local fish club. If you live in an area that has a good size club, you may find someone who is breeding them. I have found a few people here at my location that actually raise them. I have been told, the younger ones will only take live food though.

well he dones. i had went to inland to buy some but they were out of stock. they also said that they were $35 a peice. inland is a decent place. but they are soooooooo expensive. i think i found a decent place to go though. there is a wholesaler that sells fish to public on everyother saturday in indy. i think ill give them a try. thanks for the info.
 
mine eat jumbo raw shrimp pieces.I soak them in selcon.
They will also eat small freshwater feeders when introduced if they won't eat.Guppies etc.
