I have a 40 gallon aquarium containing 2 tank raised percula clownfish, a cleaner shrimp, and 4 blue/green chromises, I have been looking at different types of cardinalfish, I think they are neat and would like to get some, either pajama or baganni (sorry if I didn't spell it right). How big do they get? How many should I have in my tank? And will the fish I currently have be okay with them? Also I would like to know some general tips on how to care for them. Help is appreciated.

both the bangaii and pajama cardinal are very easy to care for. they can get to be around 2.5 to 3 inches long and do best in pairs but only when introduced together. they will get along with just about every fish except for other cardinals. cardinals dont require any special treatment, just a normal feeding routine and they'll do fine. definatly. but in a 40 gallon, if you want two, it might be best to get them from a fellow reefer who is able to tell you the sex (based upon observing the fish's sexual behavior or how well they get along with a known male). If you put in two of the same sex, it may be a fight to the death.
