Are there any nice, easy to grow carpet plants for a low tech tank?
Something that will spread well and not require a lot of trimming to keep it low?
Also should be relatively easy to obtain.

I'm planning a standard 15 gallon for my Endler's, with a pair of T5's for lighting - about 1.8 wgp, with flourish and flourish excel supplements.

Java moss.

its not a carpet, but in my low light tanks (2 wpg and less) I use sagittaria subulata as a foreground plant. It stay a few inches tall in this light level and sends out copious runners of plantlets filling in the fore and mid ground.

Lilaeopsis mauritius, known as narrow leaf micro sword, grows well under low light without C02, and spreads fairly quickly. It is still relatively new to the hobby. The more common lilaeopsis, Micro sword, is the opposite. It needs very bright light and grows very slowly.

The narrow leaf version is a very easy to grow, grassy plant. You can find it here:

I use Dwarf sag as a foreground plant too, and it only grows to about 3 inches tall, but I heard it can grow a foot tall.
