Cascade 1200 leak!!!

Thank you thank you everyone.

I purchased a .5oz container of silicone plumbers grease and applied it with a q-tip to the rubber that seals the motor/lid attachment to the canister. I also applied some to the rubber ring that sits between the basket tube and the motor housing.

This appears to have sealed my filter and it is working fine. I'm out $4 and I have plenty of grease left for the future.

:headbang2:Expensive and critical aquarium equipment saved!

I figured out how to fix this leaking issue. The canister side where the large square seal or oring whatever you would like to call it isn't machined well. The trick to making it seal perfectly everyone is to take some fine grit sand paper like 220 grit.. wrap it around a small square block of some sort that has a perfectly flat edge possibly a domino.. sand the plastic sealing lip in the canister until it is smooth and even. By doing this you create a flat surface that is free of imperfections and the seal will seal perfect everytime. Hope this helps someone. Mine hasn't leaked a dropped since!
