Could that have caused my fish's Dropsy?? Ive been fasting him a couple of days, as well as medicating his water and raising temperatures.

WTF  In your feces? or the fish's? lol

Well if its true, it certainly cant be good for them.....as far as causing dropsy?....i think your gonna find a serious lack of experience on the topic. Youre blazing new trails on this one I would imagine.

Might be conisidence, but he seems to be getting better the more he poops :P I have heard that there isn't much chance once they develop dropsy, but I have high hopes. He is more actively swimming - for a while there - he just sat on the bottom lifeless. *fingers crossed* Hes my giant oranda and Id be devastated if I lost him. :(

good luck with that....keep your cat away from the fish tank or the fishy might die from something a lot faster than dropsy..lol

lol - no worries - they are both declawed. And only one cares to sit and watch fishys. :D

I don't think its the hair. Some kind of systematic bacterial infection probably. If pet hair was dangerous to fish, then my tanks would be ghost towns, plus I think wild fish probably come into contact with thier fair share of animal hair. ;)
