Out of a hole in my live rock suddenly appears three long white "Whiskers". They look like they belong on one of those cats that sit on aquariums. I can't find anything about who they are. Any ideas? Thank you.

More than likely the feeding palps of some worm, probably a chaetopterid or spionid species.

Edit: If there are three, it may be something like a cirratulid or terebellid worm. Pictures could help out a lot.

Yes, three is the number. My camera doesn't do it justice. I will be looking up cirratulid now. Is it safe? Is it safe to have a hobby when you can't pronounce 20% of the inhabitants? Wait, don't answer that.

the vast majority of worms found in aquaria are harmless and/or beneficial. The animals you have likely are mopping up detritus and decayed material.
