Does anyone here know if the Catalina Aquarium light fixtures are UL listed or UL approved?

I don't see anything on their website about this. I have sent them an email but thought I might get a faster response here.

Thanks!

The fixtures arent listed, but I believe the "Advance" Ballast used is listed.

the fixture should be listed as well because it is probably considered an electronics enclosure

chances are yes they are. you should probably call for a faster response time...

Well, I got a response and the fixtures are not UL listed.

I've heard nothing but good things about the fixtures so I'm still tempted to purchase one. However, now that I have a family I'm more cautious about this kind of thing than I was a few years ago. Especially when the fixture will be turning on & off while I'm not in the house.

Am I worrying too much about this?

really? not listed with underwriters laboratories huh? that's news to me. kinda makes me think. i wonder if it's because of something stupid like they don't use their special knot to hold the cord or something.

I have a 3x54watt fixture and its been in use for 6 months+ and no issues to date. They are really popular on APC and TPT forums too, and I dont think I have ever read or heard of problem with catalina.

Thanks for your input. The 3x54w is the fixture I'm looking at. I think I'm going to get it.

From what I can tell, it seems like a lot of fixtures are not UL listed. I've seen some Marineland and All-Glass fixtures that are - they mention it in their product descriptions.
