Johannis are tough too. I also have been unable to catch my Jeweld Goby (he gets beat up in my 75) I will try again using these methods as well.

Try doing it with giant ones in a 100G. The net method works for me.

you don't have to tear the tank apart, but lowering the water level as much as possible helps very very much.
