Catfish for Oscar Tank Advice

Maybe I'll just stick with driftwood, then. :) Thanks again for your advice, I really appreciate it.

Do you have any other tips or advice that a newbie Oscar caretaker should know? I'd love to hear more tips from experienced keepers.

That was my biggest question, jm. I wasn't sure if putting more than the oscar in the 75 was overstocking or not. I think I'll just stick with the oscar, then.

I appreciate everyone's input!

By the way, I enjoyed your stocking guide for smaller tanks, jm. I've got a 5 gallon sitting around that I've wanted to do something with (it originally served as a terrarium). I might set it up with a betta centerpiece. :)

It could be depending on the other fish and your water change routine. I am thinking of putting a BN pleco or Raphael in a 75 with an Oscar...but it would likely require 2 sizable water changes per week, and I will move the catfish later on if necessary.

You should be fine as long as you have a backup plan, i.e., another tank to move the catfish to later on if your nitrates are too high despite a rigorous water change routine.

Best of luck!
