I picked up a small catfish the other day and I'm concerned because he doesn't seem to be eating. he's starting to look pretty thin. All he does is push against one wall of the glass. I even stuck a bit of tubifex next to where he hangs out and he treated it as an obstacle.

any ideas?

he's started eating the tubifex I put in front of him but I'm still concerned. is there anything else I can do for him?

Search on columbian cat --if it's the same thing, the fish should go in brackish and will eventually need full saltwater. It's likely stressing in FW.

Also, try meatier foods--frozen foods retain more odor, allowing the cats to identify it as food better.

i got the same one as you, the food i feed it is shrimp pellets, they eat flake foods too but it hardly touches the ground cause of my clown loaches, so get some shrimp pellets, they swallow them whole...unlike other fish that just nibble on them haha.
