Your snail is a mystery snail (Pomacea diffusa). All apple snails (Ampullaridae) are sexual. They need to be copulated by a male to be able to lay fertile egg clutches otherwise the eggs are useless since they would be infertile. Apple snails can store sperm and lay several fertile clutches for a few months. Hatching takes at least 2-5 weeks. Make sure you can accommodate all the baby snails because every clutch has 50-300 eggs. My brigs lay a clutch with almost 200 eggs in it. If you want to accommodate only a small portion, slice the egg clutch to a size that will fit your accommodations. So I do not know much about snails. What kind of snail is that exactly? Do the females still lay the eggs or is this some weird nature thing where the male lays them? How long do they take to hatch and what do I feed them when they do hatch? Is there anything important I should know about them?
