I'd first get more of the celebes rainbows. They are schooling fish and need at least 6 to be feel secure. I also believe that this species of rainbows are better suited to brackish water, which would limit your stock. Glassfish, livebearers, halfbeaks and bb gobies would be good tankmates. What size tank though?

They will do fine in hard alkaline water but not soft acidic conditions. With your kind of stocks, I'd forget the celebes. You have a bichir that will chomp them.

the bichir was for sure staying in one of the other tanks
i live in spokane with hardness constantly between 150-180+ (API strip test)
the celebs are going into a 20g
forget about the venustus.... i was trying to net out my apisto and he got scared and ran into the side of the tank and died.. soooo
but ok... so more celebs i can deal with that
then danios, white clouds and betta apisto?? that would good right

keep the sev, angel and bichir in their other tanks

Is this all going into the same 20 gal? If so I'd limit it to only one school, two at most.

I have had celebese rainbows in my discus tank for years.

i also raised the salt content a little to better accommodate the rainbows...
ok so right now there are:
3x celebs
3x zebra dan
3x white cloud
1x black skirt
1x betta
1x female apisto

this is only temporary... ill probably end up pitching the dans and skirt and probably betta to get 1-3 more celebs and some cories and a rubberlip when algae starts growing....

its also moderately planted if that helps

thanks for the help :D

Salt as in aquarium salt, or salt as in marine salt?

Aquarium salt will not create a brackish environment, and marine salt would not be good for the fish you have (minus the rainbows). Also, corys do not tolerate any salt except in low concentrations for a short period of time.
