CPD's and ember tetras, I need a single fish that isn't big enough to eat the tetras or the danios. Heavily planted. Betta is out of the question for this tank as I had a betta eat neon tetras before.thanks

I don't have an answer for you, but I'm interested to hear what people have to recommend. I'm just starting the same search for a centerpiece for my 20g. :)

Well you could go a lot of different ways. I think gouramis are going to be your best bet.

So you could do:
A single pearl gourami
A single three spot gourami
A trio of dwarf gouramis
A trio of honey gouramis

Going outside of gouramis:
A single paradise fish
A female betta (not usually as agressive as males)
A pair of GBRs
A pair of bolivian rams
A trio of Apistogramma cacatuoides
A trio of Apistogramma agassizis

It sounds like a nice tank. Good luck!

umm I'm still pretty new too this ^^; but maybe a red dwarf gourami would work?
I have 1 with some neon tetras and there absolutely fine plus there a community fish :)
hope this helps!

EDIT: he's the little guy in my avatar, blaze :D

I'd say a pair of GBR's, but then again thats all I can think about cuz I want them so bad
