i have a few friends in ceramic classes at school and they have offered to make me so caves for my tank since they are all heated in a potery oven will they be toxic (they will probably have glaze on them)

I don't think it would be since other people have to store bought pots in their tanks, the glaze shouldn't be a problem either since it basically turns into glass.
glaze doese turn into glass. I use a high gloss glaze on my stuff. It looks real shiney but it's shafe and its not so shiny under water. I have built a house and some toom stones for my dead fish. They did not die do to the glaze. I feel safer with high glose glaze. The peices should be fine one fired either way. I just have never tried it without the glaze.
