CF Retrofit Smell

I just installed an AH Supply 2x13-watt retrofit in my All-Glass lightstrip (originally 15-watt NO). The lights look great, but the strip is now emitting an ugly smell -- like paint fumes. I assume it comes from the extra heat that's being emitted from the CF bulbs. Has anybody else experienced this? Does it go away after a while (hopefully)?

extra heat, misc odors from production, I wouldnt worry about it, get concerned if it continues tho

Did you peel the protective coating off of the reflectors?

There aren't reflectors in the 15-watt strip retrofit -- you just install the two 13-watt sockets in the old chassis. A good reminder for an upcoming 2x32 kit I'll be putting together, though.

The scent did go away after a couple days as bort predicted it would. Kim at AH Supply said it was normal for the bulbs to smell oily for a little while.
