I grow plenty of plants in a 55 with a stock light, 48" t-8 bulb.
if you go with low light plants you can grow plenty.

Hi all,thanks for replies so far. Left my bonny wee island today across the sea and then another 60 miles to my LFS.where I bought 2 new 48" T8`s. ( Classica Tropical Sunlight and Classica Natural Daylight ) total of 74 watts. Tank certainly is brighter.Got a few plants as well that were recommended.Couldn`t find eco-complete though. Will travel again tomorrow further afield and see what I can come up with.Still wondering about how much eco-complete to buy though for the size of my tank.Any suggestions please!!!!!
