Can anyone give me some advice on the growth of this alage? I had a small clump in my refugium for over a month and notice it getting smaller not larger. Almost like it's melting away. I also have some gracillera that is doing very well in the same refugium. The refugium has about 36watts of PC lights, it's about 10GAL, with 5lbs of live rock rubble and a 5" sand bed. Water Parameters are..

0 Amonia
0 Nitrites
10 Nitrates
0 phosphates
480 calcium
11dkH
8.2PH
78 degrees
1.026SG

Water movement consists of of a 20GPH water pump turning the water over. Any help growing this stuff would be appreicated!

What spectrum lights? Some people claim that they like a more yellow or even red kind of light than your standard reef lights. I have had incredible growth under 5000 K PC bulbs, and some say that even incandescents will work well.

I believe they are 6700K and Acintic blue. I've heard it suggested that one might be outcompeting the other...I'm sorta suprised because everything I've read seems to indicate people having more then 1 type of macroalgae in a refugium or main tank.

I have tried more than one type in a fuge, and one always seems to win. The last competition I had was between the chaeto and gracilaria, and the chaeto won.
