I'd do daily dosing to hold it at 3 ppm. Check 24 hours later, if not at zero on amm and nitrite, dose back to 3 and repeat. When you get that magic 0/0, dose one final time. wait 24, if at 0/0, do your water change and add fish.

Bishop, I dosed to 3ppm yesterday,around this time and waited.This morning I checked my params and my ammonia was once again @ 0 and my nitrites were around 0.3mg/l. Well,when I got home today around 6.....I checked everything again....ammonia still @ 0 and nitrites are once again 0.First off, is it normal that the nitrite eating bacteria take longer than the ammonia bacteria? Will this be a problem when I get fish?
